俺たちの物語 (oretachi no monogatari), a Japanese title translated to Our Story, is the retelling of my and my best friend's story of meeting, bonding, and growing. I chose to write the title in Japanese as, aside from music, the language of Japan was one of the main ways he and I bonded. After marching band practice, he would teach me and I would ask questions, which also helped him practice for when he would go back to Japan to visit family. While I had done some arranging and small scale compositions, this was not only my first solo composition, but my first multi-movement composition as well.
