Ethan the Musician
Born in northeastern Massachusetts, Ethan's earliest musical memory is of him sleeping in his dad's banjo case while he practiced in the living room. During his early schooling years, Ethan began piano at his neighbors house, having heard music from her open windows for years. As he progressed in school, he picked up every instrument he could get his hands on: trumpet, euphonium, trombone, tuba, saxophone, clarinet, bass guitar, mandolin, and more. At the same time, Ethan began composing and arranging music for his school concert band, which kicked off a parallel career in composition that continues to this day.
In 2019, Ethan attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he majored in classical trumpet performance and music education. After graduating, Ethan worked as a private lessons teacher at Gerry's Music Shop in South Hadley, MA, before beginning his graduate career at McGill University.
Today, Ethan holds a steady gigging career in both New England and Montreal as both an educator and performer, and regularly accepts work as a composer.
